Filmmaker Justin Hannah to host Short Film Night on September 16

In association with Filmslang 2013, Kentucky filmmaker Justin Hannah will curate and host the "second vaguely semi-annual Short Film Night at Natasha's" on September 16. The event, a sequel to the first Short Film Night at Natasha's, will take place at Natasha's Bistro and Bar in Lexington, Kentucky. Join us as we present six incredible short films by these emerging Kentucky filmmakers:

SECOND CHANCES, a film by Jeremy Midkiff and Jonathan Moore
"Second Chances" is another chapter in the continuing saga of Ova Reynolds and Rob Bronson (last seen in the hilarious "Age/Sex/Location"). In this film, Ova Reynolds and his mother, Irene, hire a lifecoach to try and work through some of their relationship problems.

HAND COVERS BRUISE, a film by Antonio Pantoja and Clay Cook
In this stylish thriller, a victim of violence does whatever necessary to save her sister. What is she willing to sacrifice to save her sibling? "Hand Covers Bruise" won Best Actor (Sara Nelle Murphy) and 2nd Place Best Film at the 2013 Floyd Film Festival.

SOL MELODIAM, a video for All The Little Pieces, directed by Justin Hannah
"Sol Melodiam" (Latin for "sun melody") is a musical meditation on life, loss, aging, and the beauty to be found in nature and life's simplest moments. "Sol Melodiam" is a song by All the Little Pieces, an eclectic Lexington band fronted by a 12-year-old musical prodigy. The video was produced and directed by Justin Hannah, award-winning director of "Consignment."

WEST OF ROME, a film by Thom Southerland
An unemployed 35 year-old man is obsessively drawn to an elderly woman in this poetic drama by Lexington filmmaker Thom Southerland, starring Jeremy Midkiff.

MONKEY MOCHA FANTASTIQUE, a film by William Wallace II
It's a new spin on "guy loses girl," and a tribute to good coffee. Our hero, Dave, loses his girl to the rival barista, Stephan. He challenges Stephan to a head to head latte art competition to get her back. "Monkey Mocha Fantastique" won Best Production Design at the 2013 Floyd Film Festival.

NEARLY DEAD, a film by Jon Maynard
Four mischievous nursing home dwellers hatch a plan to retrieve a television, but in the process discover a horrible truth - the world has been overrun by zombies. They now have a new mission: to protect the elder occupants of Shady Grove Nursing Home. Winner of Best Comedy at the 2013 World Independent Film Festival.

Come out and experience the best in Kentucky filmmaking! The films start at 9pm, but get there early for dinner, drinks, and to meet the people behind the films.

Produced in association with Filmslang 2013, which runs September 13-17, 2013. To see all the Filmslang events, visit their event page.
